Prue MacSween Verve Communications |
Profile:
A former journalist, Prue MacSween formed marketing and media consultancy, MacSween Communications in November 1986. The Company worked with blue-chip clients in public relations, Government and corporate relations, crisis and issues management, editorial services, publishing, events and sponsorship.
In 2004, Prue teamed with highly respected former journalist, Louise Di Francesco, who ran The Write Communications Group to form Verve Communications, a boutique agency offering a range of high level communications services.
Prior to establishing MacSween Communications, Prue worked as a senior journalist with TV Week, then, the second largest weekly magazine. The last three years of that time was spent as NSW Editor.
Prue has worked extensively in television news and current affairs. At TCN9 Sydney, she was a newsroom reporter and daytime news reader and at GTV9 Melbourne, where she was a reporter and presenter for the current affairs program, "No Man's Land."
She was also a news reporter and current affairs presenter at TNQ7 Townsville and produced and presented her own weekly current affairs program and daily children's program.
Prior to working in television journalism, Prue trained at suburban newspaper group, Eastern Suburbs Newspapers. She also studied marketing, gaining an Advertising Diploma at Sydney Technical College.
During her 17 years as a journalist, she has worked as a contributor for newspapers and magazines and in radio newsrooms before turning to a television journalism career.
Prue has appeared as a regular panellist on Beauty And The Beast on Channel Ten, FOXTEL and Austar and she was also a regular panellist on Mars Venus for FOXTEL and Austar.
She has also presented on Radio 2UE Sydney where she was as stand in talkback presenter in the midday to 3pm Monday to Friday slot and was number one from 8pm to midnight when she stood in for Stan Zemanek for a year.
Prue wrote her first book, a biography on trans-sexual, Carlotta in 2003. Called "I'm Not That Kind Of Girl", it was a publishing success and on the best-seller list for several weeks, with five re-prints.
Prue served on the Executive Board of the Australia Day Council (NSW), was Chairman of the Marketing Committee for Australia Day (NSW) and Chairman of the Marketing and Sponsorship Committee for the Centenary of Federation (NSW). She also served on the Board of the NSW Chamber of Commerce and was Deputy Chairman of the NSW Centenary of Federation Committee.
She served as Deputy Chairman of the NSW Bicentennial Council's Marketing Committee and was a member of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Bid Announcement Committee, responsible for planning the announcement of the Year 2000 Olympics bid.
Prue has served on two NSW Government Advisory Boards and was on the NSW Government Planning Committee for Tall Ships 1998.
