Liz Courtney The Wardrobe Store |
Profile:
Marketing Communication specialist turned film director, Liz has used her business acumen to bring together a marriage of sorts between her marketing, and love of film making while combining her passion for sustainability – applying her skill bass to an unstructured industry has paved the way for her to reap fresh rewards. With a prime time series under her belt and a new Climate Change series just shot in Antarctica, Liz has found new avenues for her skill base where passion and inspiration fuel her long days and nights.
With over 20 years experience in Australia and overseas markets, formerly General Manager of Cartwright Williams, Australia’s No 1 Integrated Marketing Communication Agency and also partner in Cartwright Williams, which sold in 1998 to Leo Burnetts USA, Liz recently took 40 young people from 15 countries to Antarctica to see Climate Change through the eyes of Generation Y in Antarctica. Her skill set in the area of Public Relations, Promotional Marketing, Brand Strategy, Online and Cross Media projects, fuelled the success of her latest documentary Cool School Australia locally and internationally. With only 16 weeks to departure Liz and her production team signed onto this series, and took up the challenge to find sponsors, raise funds, engage with Screen Australia, secure airfares for the crew and arrange evacuation strategies for all young Australians. She took 3 young people to represent Australia: Hayley Warner ( Idol Rock-chick), and the first indigenous people Narelle Long and Malcolm Lynch from the Tiwi Islands.
Liz has also launched a new sustainable online business called www.the Wardrobestore.com which is a sustainable fashion destination where you can buy and sell high end designer brands – the next evolution for E-Bay which has just started fulfilling orders to the USA.
Prior to being at Cartwright Williams, Liz was General Manager of Ogilvy and Mathers Marketing Communication Division where she turned the business around from a 5-year loss to a profit in a two-year period. Liz has broad experience in; Marketing Communications; Direct Marketing, Promotional Marketing, Database, E- Marketing, Advertising, Trade Marketing, Public Relations and cross media.
