At 39, Karen Matthews was one of the youngest female Chief Executive Officers in Australia. Credited for turning the company from a loss of 1.5M into a profit of 1.2M in 4 years, Karen steered Ella Bach; Australia to being a $17M company, which is now 30% of Ella Bach; international's export sales. One of the risks Karen took was to introduce a franchise model. Ella Bach; is the only skincare franchise in Australia.
On 24 September Karen was announced the winner of the NSW Telstra Business Women's Awards Australia. Karen left Ella Bach in early 2009.
