Aliza Sherman is a Web pioneer, digital strategist and social mobile media innovator and commentator. She speaks around the world and writes about social and mobile media and marketing, practical uses of new technologies, and women's technology and business issues.
In 1995, Newsweek named her one of the "Top People Who Matter Most on the Internet" after she founded the first woman-owned, full-service Internet company, Cybergrrl, Inc. and the first global Internet networking organisation for women, Webgrrls International.
In 2003, she started a consulting firm that grew into the social media marketing agency Conversify. In 2010, she launched a digital and mobile strategy consultancy, Mediaegg.
Aliza provides high-level, strategic digital consulting to companies and nonprofit organisations, particularly focused on the women's market and cause-related projects. Her company Mediaegg recently launched an iPhone, iPod and iPad app called "Girls Can Be Anything Paperdolls" as part of a series of apps to provide age-appropriate, family-friendly games for young children who are already smartphone savvy.
As well as publishing nine books, Aliza has produced content for both public radio and public television including filing stories for "Marketplace" and has been recognised for her writing and blogging by Fast Company who listed her as one of the "Most Powerful Women in Technology" in 2009. She is also a regular contributor to Web Worker Daily and Mashable.
