A Different Kind of View is a different kind of service that fits around the client. (client can be individual or organizational).
My background is quite varied from working as a social worker, counselor, case manager. My expertise is working with clients with disabilities and their families. I have been involved in the disability movement, specifically women, I am a published writer and recently worked as an Operational Manager of an attendant care agency for 6 years.
A different kind of view provides the following services:
Support Service, Attendant care, in home support, nursing and community outreach. High support care is a specialty as have nursing specialists that train my staff specifically for each clients needs.
Case Management - supporting with advocacy, assisting with accessing services in community, making referrals, depending on need and assessment.
Counseling - having someone to talk through issues and help develop skills for everyday coping with things such as stress; depression and anxiety; self esteem, body image, personal development; relationship issues, finance issues, education etc.
This service is provided for people with disabilities, their family etc as often deal with young parents too that have a child with a disability ie autism and not sure how to cope, what services are out there, relationship issues etc.
And life coaching, giving the tools and skills required for personal and professional growth.
Providing a flexible service that is tailored to suit the needs of the person with a disability requiring support.
Providing a service that is holistic in that we take into account the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of being ie. the complete person. We also do not focus on the disability as often the word is misused by defining the person as being disabled instead of the condition.
Having a physical disability myself gives me the personal experience of disability.
Helping others to live their life however they choose with support.
Apart from work, i love to be creative in art or cooking.
Mentoring, experience in networking, building relationships and advocacy.
Part of a like minded community that supports women to be the best they can be in helping themselves, each other and the community at large.
