Michelle is the Founder and Chief Angel of Marketing Angels, Australia's leading Marketing Consultancy providing education, advice and outsourced marketing management.
Michelle is an entrepreneur who has built Marketing Angels from the ground up and worked with hundreds of small to medium businesses in the past 8 years from almost every industry.
She has 16 years experience in the marketing services, technology and telecommunications industries. Michelle studied Education at Canberra University and has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management and a certificate in Direct Marketing from the Australian Direct Marketing Association.
Before starting Marketing Angels in 2001, Michelle was part of the Internet Marketing Revolution in Australia working in Telstra's ISP and online content businesses. Michelle also helped launch the Optus @Home Broadband service.
Michelle is a contributing author in the book, The Secrets of Marketing Experts Exposed and is also featured in the Small Business Success Guide. Michelle writes a regular column in My Business Magazine, Retailer Magazine Magazine, is guest blogger for Fast Thinking and regular blogger for ANZ's online small business resource The SB Hub.
Michelle is often invited to comment on the marketing challenges facing Australia's business sector in the national press and is a regular speaker at events.
Michelle is also a business growth Mentor, on the QLD State Govt's mentoring for Growth Panel, and a marketing and fundraising board member for the Childrens Medical Research Institute.
Mark joined SingTel Optus in 2006. Mark has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry where he has been responsible for the strategic development and execution of successful strategies across consumer, SMB and large enterprise customer segments both in Australia and the USA.
Mark currently manages the Optus Digital Business portfolio, delivering cutting edge cloud based applications to SMB's in Australia via the Optus OfficeApps suite of services. This portfolio leverages strategic partnerships with companies such as Google.
Mark has a passion for technology which he combines with a customer centric approach, ensuring that solutions delivered to the market are aligned to the most important needs of the customer community.
Melanie Kansil is the co-founder & CEO of Customer Underground, an online platform dedicated to helping customers share information and businesses engage with customers. The company is about to launch its innovative mobile customer engagement platform, BoomVox.
Before starting Customer Underground with three friends, Melanie was a management consultant with global management consultancy McKinsey & Company, both in New York and Sydney, as well as in her own practice. Her focus on lean operations as a consultant helped develop her passion for good service and an insight into the challenges that organisations face in delivering it.
Melanie has an MBA from Stanford University and an AB in Physics from Harvard University; she is Secretary of the Stanford Australia Association and a Non-Executive Director of Heathley Asset Management Limited.
