About Ellen Baron
Ellen Baron has a first class honours degree in psychology, with postgrad degree in marketing. She studied a PhD to understand the psychology of addictions, specifically nexus of alcohol and gambling. She has lectured in psychology and worked for the Australian Institute of Gambling Research. Ellen has worked in market research for many years, working on domestic and large scale global projects in fmcg, services and healthcare. In 2007 she set up her own business, ruby cha cha with partner Kristin Hickey which has gone on to win awards with Anthill Magazines 50 coolest companies 2009, and more recently was placed in the Business Review Weekly Fast Starters list for 2010.
Kristin Hickey studied an honours degree in Political Science and Russian at Otago University before making the trip across the Tasman. She went on to undertake an MBA at Bond University and studied towards a PhD at Bond, understanding how customer need for control affects their overall experience and satisfaction in service interactions. Kristin lectured at Bond University for a number of years and worked as part of a small management consultancy, helping entrepreneurial businesses to seed and grow. Kristin moved to Sydney to pursue a career in market research with AMR Interactive (then AMR Quantum Harris) and The Leading Edge where she was Director of Major Strategic Projects. Kristin started ruby cha cha in 2008 and is now Managing Partner along with Ellen.
Kristin leads the Strategy, Innovation and Sales & Marketing roles at ruby cha cha.
