Hail to (Businesswo)man's Best Friend

Not every dog has its day.

Hail to (Businesswo)man's best friend

Do you have animals in your workplace? Far from being a distraction, office animals have been found to help colleagues get on better, reduce stress and raise efficiency. And, for those working alone from home, they can offer much-needed companionship.

At the Australian Businesswomen's Network, our resident soft-coated wheaten terrier, Bella, greets all visitors enthusiastically, barks at couriers and loud noises and spends a lot of time laying around or requesting scratches.

She's a well-cared for and much-loved pet and a part of our team (attending staff meetings from beneath the desk, lounged on someone's feet).

We want to let you know about an important initiative we are supporting through October.

Raising Awareness for Animal Welfare - Supporting WSPA

Not all animals are as well-cared for as Bella, or the many pets that brighten work environments all over Australia.

The Australian Businesswomen's Network has partnered with the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) to help them raise much-needed funds and to spread the word of the good work they do for animal welfare.

Great organisations, such as The Body Shop, Havaianas and Intrepid travel, are just a few companies who have partnered with WSPA to support their work. (Take a look at this short video to see how The Body Shop recently supported WSPA.)

We encourage you to consider being a WSPA donor, either personally or through workplace giving to show support for the great work that WSPA does.

You can learn more about the WSPA donor programs (which start at just $30 a month), here.
