Karen Houghton started her own business in October 1995 at the age of 28 after the birth of her second child.
"It became apparent to me that employers found my status as Mum to be an unattractive qualification on my resume." After four years of going it alone, Karen took the leap and employed her first Money Penny! Miss Money Pennys provide a range of services from basic bookkeeping to systems recommendation/ implementation and training. Money Pennys works with Xero and MYOB and their clients are all over Australia. Money Pennys provides Cloud based Management Accounting, Bookkeeping and Virtual Assistants services.
Karen also judges applicants for the NSW Telstra Business Awards - a role she relishes since being invited in 2002.
