- Makeover your pantry and fridge
Out with old and in with the vibrant! Take the time to empty your pantry and fridge of processed and refined foods. Out goes the biscuits and chocolates you’ve been hiding away, frozen foods, white pasta and white rice.
Replenish your shelves with vibrant fresh produce and whole grain foods like spelt pasta, red rice, brown rice and quinoa. Buy some agave nectar and discover the delectable treats you can make with this healthier alternative to sugar.
- Drop the booze!
You’ll bounce out of bed in the morning when you drop those evening vino’s. Soft drinks, energy drinks and caffeine are on the hit list too! Filtered, clear water with added mint leaves of fruit will cleanse you of toxins and revitalise your energy. Try some liquid chlorophyll to cleanse the blood or fresh lemon in warm water in the morning to give your liver and digestive system some love.
- Watch those carbs
Replace white, processed bread and pasta with fresh produce in an array of different colours. A good guide for the perfect meal is a palm of protein, two handfuls of vegetables/salad, some whole grain carbohydrates if you must and a fingers length of good quality oils like avocado, coconut or olive oil.
- Fresh air
It’s time to breath - Outside! After winter, this can be a new experience for many of us workaholics. Create the time to get out into the fresh air every day.
Grab a few minutes of beautiful sunshine, replenish those vitamin D levels that have been shown to boost mood and immune system function.
- Shake your booty!
Moving your body has more health benefits than you can poke a stick at. If you are not used to exercise, then start with some walking. If you love the gym, then it’s time to start sweating again. The early morning of Spring are a gorgeous time for a quick run before your day begins.
- Make over your daily routine
Find that you are hitting snooze just one too many times? Are your excuses for not exercising or cooking wearing a bit thin? Mix up your routine and discover the energy, vibrancy and freedom that comes from planning a week’s worth of meals on a Sunday evening so that you don’t get takeout every night. Arrange to meet friends for an early morning walk to get you moving again. Sometimes there’s a lot of freedom that can be gained from organisation and planning!
